Content Guidelines
TwistScript is family-friendly - a place anyone can play. The Worlds and Tales you play are rated General or Teen. These guidelines cover the things you bring into a story: the actions you take, the openings you write when you tell the story yourself, and the names and backstories you give your characters. Keep it in the same spirit as the story you're playing.
The two ratings
- General - suitable for all ages. Mild peril is fine; nothing frightening or intense.
- Teen - mild violence and more mature themes handled with restraint (think a teen adventure novel), but never explicit.
Encouraged
- ✓Original characters - the names and backstories you bring into play.
- ✓Adventure, mystery, humour, heart, and stakes - tension and conflict that drive a good story.
- ✓Action and peril described at a narrative, not graphic, level.
Not allowed
- ✕Sexual or suggestive content involving anyone, and any sexualisation of minors whatsoever.
- ✕Graphic or gratuitous violence, gore, cruelty, or torture.
- ✕Hate, harassment, or demeaning content targeting people based on who they are.
- ✕Content that promotes self-harm, suicide, or the use of dangerous substances.
- ✕Real, named people depicted in defamatory or invasive ways.
- ✕Copyrighted or trademarked worlds and characters you don't own (see the originality rule below).
- ✕Spam, scams, or off-topic promotional content.
Keep it your own
Give your characters original names and backstories rather than lifting them from existing books, films, games, or franchises. It keeps you clear of copyright and trademark trouble - and it's more fun.
Reporting and moderation
If you come across something that crosses these lines - in a shared story, a co-op session, or anywhere on the platform - report it. A human moderator reviews every report and can remove content or take action on an account. Repeated or serious breaches can lead to a ban.
